In Wisconsin, Group to Make Veterans Issues a Priority in the 2020 Presidential Election, Outreach plans include ambitious voter registration drive
Issues of concern to America’s veterans and their families will be highlighted in the 2020 campaign, thanks to a strong voter outreach effort by the Coalition for American Veterans, which is making a targeted effort in Wisconsin, a crucial swing state. The group notes that in a close election, the votes of veterans could be decisive.
With the 2020 presidential election in mind – and despite the current lockdown due to the coronavirus – the Coalition has produced over 10,000 Presidential Election Voters Guides aimed at veterans, with plans to distribute an additional 25,000 or more to Wisconsin veterans between now and November.
The Coalition has already reached tens of thousands of our state’s veterans with text messages, recorded phone calls, and mailings. The group aims to activate and energize pro-veteran voters, with its website urging them to sign a pledge to “Stand Up For Veterans” in the 2020 elections. Already, over 10,000 have signed the pledge, with a goal of millions by November.
The Coalition also plans an innovative and intensive effort to reach veterans who are not yet registered to vote and make sure they register for the 2020 elections.
