What’s Happening to America?

Bravery, personal sacrifice, and love of country – throughout our nation’s history, those are the qualities that have been exhibited by those who have served in the military.

America’s veterans have put it all on the line – defending freedom, opposing tyranny, and protecting our nation’s security. From Vietnam to Afghanistan, from Iraq to Korea, America’s veterans have been America’s foremost heroes. The ideals of America – liberty, economic opportunity, free speech, citizenship, democratic elections, equal treatment under the law, freedom of religion, patriotism, respect for the rule of law – have been well defended.

But in today’s divisive political climate, there are many danger signs. Some of our most cherished values are under attack.

What’s happening to America?

Have the efforts and sacrifices of generations of veterans been in vain?

Free speech, open debate, and fair elections are crucial to our republic. But we are experiencing an unprecedented wave of restrictions on expressions of opinion and disagreement. The mainstream media, big tech companies, so-called “progressive” politicians, and our educational system are increasingly promoting a “cancel culture” that stifles debate and promotes one-sided propaganda.

The educational system is a particular worry, because our children are our future. We see school boards and city councils caving in to radical activists. From elementary school to high school to our universities, we see racial propaganda in the form of “critical race theory,” transgenderism and homosexuality promoted in the guise of “sex education,” and – worst of all – a defamation of American history with the accusation that our nation is “racist,” “imperialist,” and “oppressive” to its core.

Instead of respect for the rule of law, we see more and more disrespect for law enforcement.

Instead of holding high the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, we see a federal government and presidential administration that puts illegal immigrants ahead of citizens.

Perhaps most alarming, we see a growing trend toward socialist economic policies that would stifle creativity, innovation, and prosperity. After all, among America’s greatest strengths and sources of opportunity have been its economic liberty and free market system.

Indeed, what’s happening to America?

Is America still worth fighting for?

Well, of course, the answer is “yes!,” a resounding “yes!” – and America’s veterans know this better than anyone.

Over America’s 245 years, we have seen threats from communism and fascism and terrorism.  We have overcome the challenges of depression, of slavery, and racial discrimination. The game is by no means over!

Those who have served in the military have loyally and patriotically defended America over the years have not done so out of selfishness or to seek personal gain. Rather, veterans have defended America because they believe in America. Veterans have protected our rights and freedoms because they cherish our God-given liberty.

While times are tough now, they have been tougher before, and America’s heroes have always met the challenge. We can be confident that those who serve our nation’s military will once again be proven worthy. In peacetime or wartime, in times of unity and in times of division, we can be confident that our nation’s veterans will play a key role in setting our nation on the right path.

Coalition for American Veterans PAC

Coalition for American Veterans PAC was founded by a group of citizens concerned with the treatment our veterans have received since returning from duty, going months and years without seeing their families and risking their lives, only to come home to politicians that do not support them.
